About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Collections Manager to lead and optimize our collections operations within the fast-paced Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS) environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of telecom billing cycles, enterprise customer payment behaviors, and global collections nuances. This role will ensure timely revenue realization, healthy cash flows, and compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Collections Operations & Strategy
- Lead end-to-end collections processes.
- Develop and execute collection strategies to reduce, improve cash flow, and minimize bad debt.
- Manage customer aging buckets, review past-due accounts, and take proactive measures to prevent delinquencies.
- Monitor collection performance metrics and generate weekly/monthly dashboards.
Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary escalation point for overdue accounts and complex collection cases.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Customer Success, Billing, and Legal teams to resolve disputes and ensure smooth collections.
- Communicate professionally with global clients to negotiate payment commitments.
Billing & Compliance
- Ensure alignment with collection cycles.
- Verify adherence to internal financial controls, credit policies, and regulatory compliance.
Process Improvement
- Identify gaps in existing workflows and implement best practices to improve collection efficiencies.
- Participate in cross-functional projects to streamline revenue operations.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 3+ years of experience in collections, credit control, or receivables management—preferably in CPaaS, SaaS, telecom, or technology sectors.
- Strong understanding of subscription billing, usage-based billing, and telecom/CPaaS invoicing models.
- Prior experience handling enterprise/global clients and large-volume invoices.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and customer-facing skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, billing CRMs, ERP systems, and dashboards.
- Ability to analyze data, forecast collections, and present actionable insights to leadership.
- High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
